Our water-transfer tattoo is printed on special paper that has a water-soluble release coating made from dextrin or starch. The design itself is created using non-toxic, skin-safe inks that meet cosmetic safety standards.

Over the printed image, there is a thin layer of medical- or cosmetic-grade adhesive, often made from polyvinyl alcohol, gum arabic, or another food-safe polymer. On top,some tattoos have a protective transparent film made from PET or polypropylene to prevent damage before application. All these layers sit on the backing paper until you wet it, which dissolves the release coating and allows the printed design to transfer smoothly onto the skin.
